When Doctor Horner was suddenly taken ill

When Doctor Horner was suddenly taken ill in 2013 the Doctors from Widdrington Surgery offered to provide medical care for the patients of Felton Surgery.

Since that time the Doctors at Felton and Widdrington Surgery have shared their time between the two Surgeries.

Although Felton and Widdrington Surgeries will remain two separate practices, to improve the care of our patients at both surgeries we would like the two surgeries to be able to share the patients’ Clinical records.

Sharing the Clinical record will enable us to perform clinical and administrative functions in a more timely fashion. In our modern NHS, improvements in performance and care across both practices can be implemented effectively with the facility of shared data. For example when a Doctor or member of the administrative staff from one surgery is unavailable – perhaps if they are busy with a more urgent Clinical problem – another Doctor or administrator could deal with the patient’s query.

If you have questions about our proposal to share or if you prefer that your data was not shared this way, please ask to talk to or write to our Practice Manager – Jackie Smith.
